About Leetress M. Burris
Leetress M. Burris was an elementary school teacher for
almost 20 years in the Appoquinimink and Capital School Districts. She became a teacher not only to make a difference, but be the difference in
children’s lives. Even though Leetress loved making an impact on students, at present, she is not teaching in a classroom setting. However, she is still changing lives through the written word.
Leetress developed a love for writing at a very early age. Her journey began with reading books from the library where her mother worked. Leetress discovered that she could go anywhere in a book by using her imagination. She has traveled all over the world and learned so many facts and trivia through the pages of books. Eventually, this led her to write poetry, short stories and later, her first book.
At present, Leetress has seven books published – A Wish for
Snuggles, Heroes of the Bible: The Stories of Jonah, Noah and Joseph,
Maps Are Amazing!, I Am Me!, The World Is Beautiful, The Odd Puppy
and Finding the Rhythm in You. Leetress enjoys spending time with family andfriends, attending church services, reading, writing and traveling.

Reviews
A Wish for Snuggles and Leetress's central message is universal and is timeless. Also the use of self-affirmations is such an amazing strategy that all readers can do to promote self-worth and self-love!
As a teacher I could easily use this book as a bridge for so many lessons. Community building, acceptance of differences, text structure, voice, adverbs ...... the list is endless. I love Mrs. Lambchop and her spirit. She reminds me of the author....a wise character that provides the insight of hope and the purpose that we all have inside of ourselves once we have self-love.

This children's book (I Am Me!) is a must have for children to understand and except themselves, as well as, love themselves for the way they are. The significant relevance of this book, especially in this age of bullying, will help children realize that it's nothing wrong with being unique, and to maintain a positive image along with self esteem.

A beautifully written and illustrated book (Maps Are Amazing!), making what some may consider a dull topic, come to life. The catchy rhythm of the text, keeps the children interested and even allows them to insert words on their own. This book is loaded with so much information for children to absorb; they will be challenged to name each continent and the oceans, and so much more. A great book for all children!
